New retirement community coming to Grande Dunes

A new retirement community is coming to Grande Dunes, offering seven different home designs that will be built along 62nd Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

Del Webb Myrtle Beach, a 55-and-up community located at 6200 62nd Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, will offer home designs with two to five bedrooms and two to four bathrooms, according to the Del Webb website.

The community also offers beach access, two 18-hole golf courses, a lap pool and resort-style pool, a clubhouse and a fitness center.

Residents will have access to the 25,000-square-foot Ocean Club that is located in Grande Dunes. The club offers dining and entertainment option as well as private oceanfront access.

The website states that homes will begin in the high $200,000s.

Representatives from Del Webb were not immediately available for comment, but they will appear before the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board on Thursday for for a final review of the clubhouse and porposed 6-foot tall masonry wall that will run parallel to U.S. 17 Bypass.
