Coroner releases name of man killed in S.C. Highway 544 crash

A person killed in a crash during heavy rain Saturday night has been identified as a Conway man, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Kique James Drayton, Sr., 37, of Conway was pronounced dead at the scene, Edge said. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine his exact cause of death.

The crash occurred south of Myrtle Ridge Road on S.C. Highway 544 near Kings Road around 10:30 p.m., according to Edge.

The collision remains under investigation.
