Pedestrian struck and killed on U.S. 701 identified as Myrtle Beach man
A pedestrian struck and killed by a car early Sunday morning has been identified as 54-year-old Eric Ralph Holder, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
Holder, of Myrtle Beach, died of trauma from the collision, Edge said.
Trooper Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says Holder was walking on the roadway on U.S. 701 at S.C. 22 in Conway around 5 a.m., when a 2012 Mazda traveling northbound on U.S. 701 struck him.
The driver of the Mazda is identified as 38-year-old Damion Westerhaus, who did not suffer any injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
