Horry County police search for suspect wanted in armed robbery

Horry County police responded to 1012 Hwy 501 in Myrtle Beach in an attempt to locate a subject wanted for armed robbery, burglary first and weapons charges Thursday morning, after he was seen doing a Facebook live stream with two other subjects, according to a police report.

When police arrived on scene, one subject took off running down Canal Street. Police followed him into a local business where one target was found in a barber chair getting a haircut, officials said. He was arrested without incident.

A second subject was sitting in a chair near the door of the business. Police asked him to stand up, which he refused to do, because police needed to search for weapons.

According to the report, officers attempted to handcuff the suspect. After a struggle, police were able to detain him, and they found a gun in his waistband.

A search warrant has been issued for the vehicle that was being driven.
