Warming shelter opening in Conway

The City of Conway is opening a warming shelter as below freezing temperatures chill the area this weekend.

The warming shelter will open at the Conway Senior Center at 1519 Mill Pond Road on Friday and Saturday, according to Lt. Selena Small with Conway police.

The shelter will operate both nights from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., and if there are no occupants by 10 p.m., the shelter will close.

Cots, blankets, and pillows will be provided, along with snacks and drinks, officials said.

Pets are not allowed at the warming shelter.
