‘Christmas for Vets’ event in Garden City Saturday
The Seventh annual American Legion Riders miniature golf tournament, benefiting “Christmas for Vets” will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Gilligan’s Island Funland Golf, 3009 U.S. 17 Business, Garden City Beach, next to Kroger, and across from Jensen’s community. The cost is $20.

‘Endless Summer’ set for North Myrtle Beach
The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce presents its annual “Endless Summer Festival” from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.

Car show planned for Saturday
Halloween Rod Run Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Surfside Drive in Surfside Beach.
The show features collector and classic rides. It is a low pressure get together of car enthusiasts. It has everything from show cars to rat rods, foreign and domestic.
Halloween parties strike next weekend
The Monsters Ball at Celebrity Square kicks off Halloween weekend in Myrtle Beach beginning at 8 p.m. First place costume contest pays out $2,000, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place. Free admission to all clubs with a costume.
BooFest at Barefoot Landing in Noerth Myrtle Beach will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday with a kids’ costume contest, face painting, a pets’ costume contest and more. The party continues in North Myrtle Beach at 2001 Nightclub with its Spooktacular Halloween Bash beginning at 8 p.m. Costume contest begins at 11 p.m.
“Halloween on the MarshWalk” — the Marshwalk’s longest running event — will be Oct. 31. All eight of the MarshWalk restaurants will have food and drink specials. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with Trick-or-Treating along the MarshWalk for the kids. The annual Children’s Costume Contest is at 6 p.m. in front of Drunken Jack’s at the Pirate Statue. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, best group, funniest, and the scariest for kids ages 3 and up. The Adult Costume Contest will begin at 7 p.m. Over $3,500 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top costumes. Categories include People’s Choice, best Duo/Group, Best Individual, Big & Bulky, Murrells Inlet Themed and Honorable Mention. Final judging and the award ceremony will take place at Bubba’s Love Shack at 10:30 p.m.
