Murrells Inlet dredging meeting set for Monday
The Georgetown County Public Services Department has scheduled a public meeting in the Murrells Inlet community to present plans for an inlet dredging project expected to begin this fall.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Murrells Inlet Community Center, located at 4462 Murrells Inlet Road. County officials and others working on the project, including engineers, will be on hand to review plans for the project and answer questions from the public. There will also be an opportunity for public input.
Dive in to Taste of Town Tuesday
St. Andrew Catholic School presents the 33rd Annual Taste of the Town from 4-10 p.m. Tuesday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, 3601 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach.
Tapas style servings of appetizers, entrees, and desserts from more than 50 area restaurants under one food serving their most popular menu items. Restaurants will compete to win Best Entree, Best Dessert, and Best Booth Design. Food tickets are $1 per ticket and are sold at the event.
Conway Ghost Walk kicks off Thursday
The Conway Ghost Walk: Spirits of the Lowcountry is a storytelling festival that revolves around the historic town. Storytellers share spooky tales about the town and take people on a 60-minute tour around Conway. Tours are approximately one-mile long.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. Reservations are suggested or tickets can be purchased at the Conway Visitor Center. Tours starts at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the box office every 15 minutes until 8:30 p.m. each night.
Doggie Dash, Mini-Marathon next weekend
The Doggie Dash and Coastal 5K are two races that are part of Myrlte Beach Mini-Marathon weekend. The 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and the Doggie Dash starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. Both are at The Market Common.
Then on Sunday, the Myrtle Beach Mini-Marathon will begin at 7 a.m., and starts near the Coastal Grand Mall and finishes downtown by the Boardwalk.
