The town of Surfside Beach has issued a curfew that starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 7 a.m. Sunday.

Police Officers will be strictly enforcing the curfew in order to protect persons and property, according to Surfside Beach police Chief Rodney Keziah. The curfew prohibits non-essential and emergency travel under the executive order.

Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be monitored and stopped where necessary, Keziah said. Town and local area residents are asked to stay inside until the curfew is lifted.

If you have an emergency, contact emergency personnel.
