Georgetown County imposes curfew

A curfew has been imposed for Georgetown County beginning tonight due to widespread power outages, dangerous road conditions, and other safety concerns.

The curfew will be enforced in the City of Georgetown, the Town of Pawleys Island and the Town of Andrews as well as unincorporated areas of the county.

The curfew will be in effect until further notice.

During the curfew residents should remain indoors between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. unless a case of emergency arises or because of necessary travel to work.

When traveling during the curfew residents should take their ID, proof of residency, and proof of employment for those traveling to work.

There will be an increased law enforcement presence, and those who violate the curfew will be stopped.
