Coronavirus

The Sun News is bringing its COVID-19 coverage to Instagram. Here’s how to tune in

More than a year into the coronavirus pandemic, reporters at The Sun News have followed the news each step of the way.

From the initial business closures and daily case counts to important vaccination news and school reopenings, the stories of the Myrtle Beach area have been told in the pages of the newspaper. The pandemic isn’t over yet, and there’s still news out there that you need to know.

Every week, Sun News reporter Mary Norkol reports and writes a story on the state of the pandemic in Horry County and Myrtle Beach, using a new angle each week about how COVID-19 has impacted residents and the community. Now, we’ll be bringing you those same updates on Instagram.

Join Mary Norkol every Monday for a new Instagram series on The Sun News’ Instagram account where you’ll receive in-depth and enterprise news on the pandemic and its course.

These stories will be local and disseminate need-to-know information like where you can get a vaccine and how to continue to stay safe under new guidelines. They’ll also tell the stories of your friends and neighbors along with local leaders making decisions about the pandemic.

As vaccinations continue and a return to pre-pandemic life seems to be on the horizon, stick with The Sun News to stay up-to-date on your coronavirus news.
