South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control officials say the Myrtle Beach area has seen a total of 8,562 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started in mid-March.
There have been 148 deaths in Horry County from coronavirus. Two new deaths in middle-aged people were announced Sunday.

Georgetown County’s total case count now sits at 1,454 with 19 deaths.

People aged 21 to 30 years old make up about 20 percent of all COVID-19 cases in South Carolina, according to DHEC. Women account for about 52 percent of the total cases.
