‘No idea how I may have caught it’: Horry County Solicitor tests positive for COVID-19
The Solicitor for Horry and Georgetown counties says he tested positive for COVID-19.
“I have no idea how I may have caught it,” Jimmy Richardson wrote in a Facebook post. “Thank God that my symptoms have not been bad.”
Richardson posted late Saturday night that he tested positive for coronavirus. He said he woke up tired and felt clammy on Thursday morning. His temperature was in the normal range, but he got tested at Conway Medical Center.
“I just didn’t feel quite right,” Richardson wrote.
Richardson said several people at the South Carolina 15th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office got tested last week, and a few were positive.
Symptoms have not been bad, Richardson wrote. There has been little congestion and fatigue. He said the worst part has been a headache that Tylenol did little to improve.
Richardson wrote he took pain medication around lunch on Saturday and felt fine since. He said he has been quarantined in his bedroom since Thursday.
“I will remain here for the foreseeable future,” Richardson wrote.
Richardson’s wife, Sheila, and children are fine, the solicitor wrote. He asked people to keep both his family and the community in their prayers.
