Ten Horry County employees test positive for coronavirus while others await results

Horry County Government is renewing courthouse safety precautions after announcing 10 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Two employees with the county police tested positive, and one who worked at the detention center. Most of those in quarantine, or who have tested positive, work in the Parks and Recreation department.

In total, 36 employees are working remotely or on medical leave due to possible exposure to the virus.

The courthouse is still operation, but the public is encouraged to call ahead to set up an appointment or try to conduct business online or over the phone. You’re also required to wear a mask. If you don’t have one, it will be provided.
