Coronavirus count in the Myrtle Beach area: The latest local COVID-19 numbers

The number of coronavirus cases in Horry County and the Myrtle Beach area rose by 15 cases Sunday.

The county’s total rose to 432 cases. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released the latest data on Monday afternoon.

Horry County’s death total remained at 25.

Georgetown County rose to 76 cases, and remained at three overall deaths as of Sunday.

In South Carolina, there were 467 new COVID-19 cases Sunday with seven more deaths, bringing the totals to 11,861 cases and 494 deaths.

Health officials also continue to stress the importance of social distancing and handwashing to help slow the spread of the disease.
