Coronavirus by the numbers: Cases pass 400 in the Myrtle Beach, Horry County area

Cases of the coronavirus have increased by 15 in Horry County as of Friday, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Those cases bring the total number of cases in Horry County to 410 since mid-March. The county has had 25 coronavirus-related deaths.

More testing in the area is expected to increase as Tidelands Health and DHEC have partnered up to administer free tests around Horry and Georgetown counties. The first facility opens Saturday at the Pelicans stadium in Myrtle Beach.

The number of tests administered by location is nearly impossible to report as DHEC does not appear to be tracking that information.

Cases of COVID-19 across South Carolina have risen to 11,131 as of Friday afternoon, DHEC reports. There have been 483 virus-related deaths in the state.

The state has preformed more 194,000 tests since the outbreak started. DHEC does not release testing-by-county data.
