Health officials released information this week on the demographics and preexisting health conditions of South Carolina residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The average age of a COVID-19 patient in the state is 49, and the age group 51-60 has the most cases with 17 percent of the total.
Here are the latest updates on the coronavirus in the Myrtle Beach area May 28.
Cases of the coronavirus in Horry County have reached 392 as of noon Thursday, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. There have been 24 virus-related deaths in the county.
In Georgetown County, cases have increased to 71, with three deaths, DHEC reports.
Across South Carolina, cases have surpassed 10,600 and there have been 466 deaths due to the coronavirus.
