Here’s when and where you can get a free coronavirus test in Horry, Georgetown counties
Folks wanting to get a free coronavirus test along the Grand Strand area can do so in the coming weeks at several new testing clinics coming to the region.
Tidelands Health, who will be leading the widespread testing push locally, announced on Tuesday where drive-thru coronavirus testing stations will be located.
The first center to open will be on Saturday, May 30 at the Pelican Stadium in Myrtle Beach. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for that day only.
“The Myrtle Beach Pelicans stand with our community to offer resources and support as we all work through this pandemic together.” General manager of the Pelicans. Ryan Moore said.
All tests will be free and no pre-screening is required. Just show up and you will be tested for COVID-19. You will be asked to provide contact information so you can get your test results a few days later. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Since the locations will be drive-thru centers, you will not have to get out of your car to be tested.
Increased testing will give the public and government officials more information about where the virus is and how many people have it. This information is vital to the reopening process.
