Coronavirus count: The latest COVID-19 numbers for Myrtle Beach, Horry County
The number of coronavirus cases in Horry County and the Myrtle Beach area continued to rise Saturday, with five additional cases.
The county’s total rose to 256 cases, up from 251 on Friday. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released the latest data on Saturday afternoon.
There were no new deaths reported, leaving the Horry County total at 18.
Georgetown County rose to 50 cases while remaining at three overall deaths as of Saturday.
In South Carolina, there were 164 new COVID-19 cases Saturday with 10 more deaths, bringing the totals to 7,531 cases and 330 deaths.
Health officials also continue to stress the importance of social distancing and handwashing to help slow the spread of the disease.
