Grand Strand Medical Center resuming some patient visitation amid coronavirus pandemic

As South Carolina begins allowing businesses to slowly reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic, area hospitals are slowly moving toward normal operations as well.

Grand Strand Medical Center announced Wednesday it would begin allowing one adult visitor per patient in its care, though visitation will continue to be restricted for patients who test positive or are awaiting test results for COVID-19.

Visitors may enter through the main entrance or emergency room entrance off U.S. Highway 17 with visiting hours between 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

All Myrtle Beach area hospitals have been restricting visitors for several weeks in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus.
