The number of confirmed cases weekly in the Myrtle Beach area has declined since peaking at 70 in early April, and businesses, including outdoor restaurant dining and hotels are starting to reopen this week.

The total number of cases confirmed in South Carolina is 6,841 with 296 deaths, though DHEC estimates more than 75 percent of patients have recovered statewide.
