DHEC’s latest coronavirus cases, deaths update for the Myrtle Beach area

Four additional confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were announced for the Myrtle Beach area on Monday as the Grand Stand economy begins to reopen.

Horry County has had 230 coronavirus cases and 18 related deaths since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control. Georgetown County had one additional coronavirus case confirmed.

South Carolina has had 6,757 cases and 283 deaths in total since the pandemic began.

Across the state, there has been a 78 percent recovery rate after people have been confirmed with the virus, according to DHEC.
