Coronavirus live updates for April 20: Here’s the latest in the Myrtle Beach area
The number of coronavirus cases confirmed last week in Horry County decreased from the previous week, according to online health department data.
Last week, there were just over 50 confirmed cases of the virus in the county, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, compared to the previous week with about 70 newly confirmed cases.

As of Monday morning, Horry County’s total confirmed cases of the coronavirus is 185, with 12 virus-related deaths, DHEC reports. The virus was first reported in Horry County mid March.
The number of confirmed cases has reached at least 33, with two deaths in Georgetown County.
South Carolina’s cases have climbed to 4,377, DHEC reports. There have been 120 virus-related deaths across the state.
