The latest coronavirus numbers: Horry County, Myrtle Beach see more COVID-19 cases

The number of coronavirus cases in Horry County and the Myrtle Beach area continued to rise Saturday, April 11, with eight additional cases reported.

The county’s total rose to 132 cases, up from 124 on Friday. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released the latest data on Saturday afternoon.

There were no new deaths in Horry County as the total remained at seven.

Georgetown County’s total rose to 32 cases and the county remained at one death.

In South Carolina, there were 144 new COVID-19 cases Saturday with eight deaths, bringing the totals to 3,207 cases and 80 deaths.

The state remains under a “work or home” order that Gov. Henry McMaster issued earlier this week. Health officials also continue to stress the importance of social distancing and handwashing to help slow the spread of the disease.
