Four Myrtle Beach area zip codes now have at least 10 confirmed coronavirus cases

Four Horry County zip codes have at least 10 confirmed coronavirus cases.

The Myrtle Beach zip code of 29577 and the Conway area zip code 29527 still have the most with 12 cases each.

Socastee’s zip code of 29588 is now tied for third-most with 11 cases. The 29576 zip code that covers Murrells Inlet/Garden City also has 11 cases.

The updated zip code breakdown was released by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control on Tuesday evening. The figures are the totals as of midnight.

Horry County has 91 total reported cases of COVID-19, according to the data.

The zip codes covering the Galivants Ferry/Aynor/Nichols areas still have not had a confirmed case.

DHEC officials also estimate 514 cases in the area, good for 605 total cases in Horry County.

The numbers were released at the same time the state’s “work or home” order went into effect. Residents are now to remain in their home unless they are heading out for work, to pick up necessary supplies or for recreation.
