Here is the latest on the Tidelands’ nurse featured in viral Facebook post
The Tidelands nurse featured in a viral Facebook post about treating patients with coronavirus tested negative for the disease.
On Saturday, Troy Perry posted that his wife, who works in the emergency room of Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital, was in the critical care unit after treating patients with COVID-19. He stated that she was not allowed to wear personal protective gear while at work in the Myrtle Beach area.
Tidelands stated the hospital followed federal guidelines on when to wear gear. Officials also stressed that no employee has been disciplined for wearing gear when it was not advised.
On Monday, Ambrosia Perry posted on Facebook that she tested negative for coronavirus and was at home with her children.
“I definitely had some sort of virus that caused elevated temps for a week and for me to have bronchial spasms in which cause me to have NO airflow to my lungs (causing no airflow upon auscultation),” she wrote in the post.
Ambrosia Perry wrote that a doctor said she might have an underlying condition, such as asthma, and she would follow up. She took a moment to thank her coworkers and staff that provided her care.
“Nurses physicians phlebotomist security all came to see me, encourage me. Tell me little words of encouragement. I needed that more than anything. My ED docs surprised me with snacks,” she wrote.
“My mama Kate brought me a goody bag. My first night shift nurse gave me an awesome headband with buttons for my mask/o2 tubing. The texts. Calls. Snapchats. Facebook messages . Overwhelming love guys.”
