Shake and makeup: Fight over social distancing erupts at Myrtle Beach pawn shop

An argument over social distancing at a Myrtle Beach pawn shop left a man with minor injuries, according to a police report.

Officers went to Myrtle Beach Pawn Shop, 1007 Broadway St., around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday for a reported assault.

When they arrived, they found a manager cleaning some scrapes on his arms, according to a police report.

The manager said he and another person got into an argument over coronavirus social distancing guidelines the store implemented, according to the report.

The argument escalated into a fight, but the customer left the store after the manager gave him a pair of vice grips, according to the report.

In the end, the manager and the customer shook hands — an action that goes against social distancing guidelines.

The victim did not want to press charges, and police made no arrests in the case.
