Myrtle Beach, Horry County continue to see number of coronavirus cases increase
The coronavirus outbreak continues to spread in Horry County with one more confirmed case on Monday.
There are now 32 positive COVID-19 cases in the Myrtle Beach area, according to the latest numbers from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. That is an increase from the 31 cases that were reported through Sunday.
There have also been three deaths in Horry County from coronavirus complications.
In total, there are now 925 confirmed cases in South Carolina. That includes 11 confirmed cases in Georgetown County.
Health officials continue to stress the importance of handwashing and social distancing to help stop the spread of the disease. Area hotels and attractions have also closed to help slow the coronavirus’ spread.
U.S. Rep Tom Rice (R-7) reminded people that the stimulus bill can help businesses though a loan program. The money can be used to offset the loss of business because of the pandemic.
“Every small business owner should go talk to their banker about the 7(a) program,” Rice told The Sun News. “If you don’t go ask for it, you won’t get it.”
