Here are confirmed Myrtle Beach, Horry County coronavirus cases broken down by zip codes

Myrtle Beach’s 29577 and 29588 zip codes has had four each of Horry County’s 21 confirmed coronavirus cases.

On Friday the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released its first breakdown of COVID-19 cases by zip code. It began doing so after the South Carolina Association of Counties requested more site-specific information of confirmed cases for public safety reasons.

The 29577 zip code includes The Market Common area and much of Myrtle Beach while 29588 is the Socastee area.

Zip Codes 29576, which includes the South Strand, and 29527, south of Conway, both have three confirmed cases. All other zip codes had fewer than two confirmed cases.

Two other cases are from unknown zip codes.

In Georgetown County, three zip codes — 29440, 29576 and 29585 — each have one confirmed case.

These are only confirmed cases. The actual numbers of cases in each zip code is likely much higher. Officials warned to not get a “false sense of security” if there are not many cases in your area.
