Number of coronavirus cases continues to grow in Myrtle Beach, Horry County

Horry County and Myrtle Beach continue to see an increase in the number of coronavirus cases.

There are now 21 confirmed cases in the area, according to the latest figures from South Caroline health officials released on Thursday afternoon.

There were 20 cases as of Wednesday.

In South Carolina, there are now 456 positive COVID-19 cases, according to the latest data. Nine people have died from the disease, including one elderly person with no underlying health conditions in Horry County.

Health officials continue to stress the importance of social distancing, washing hands and staying home if a person feels ill.
