Horry-Georgetown Technical College postpones spring graduation due to coronavirus

Horry-Georgetown Technical College postponed its spring graduation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

New plans for HGTC’s commencement will be announced at a later date, according to a statement from the college.

HGTC joins Coastal Carolina University and institutions across the country in postponing upcoming graduation ceremonies.

Students will continue the semester online.

HGTC is waiting for Gov. Henry McMaster to approve plans that would allow students to continue hands-on classes, clinicals and internships in small groups.

“We will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation and keep you apprised of the latest developments and decisions that may impact the College. Please know that your health and safety are at the top of my mind,” HGTC President Marilyn Fore said in a statement.
