Instagram users polled by “chart-maker” Matt Shirley chose the “most overrated” city in every state in America.

Their choice for South Carolina: Myrtle Beach.

One reaction: Why so mean? Myrtle Beach has 60 miles of beautiful coastline that attracts 20 million visitors every year.

But on the other hand, the Grand Strand does have a lot of, err, attractions and restaurants you can find literally anywhere else.

The horde of Ripley’s attractions, Señor Frogs, Pirate’s Voyage, Margaritaville and The Simpson’s experience at Broadway at the Beach are all attractions and eateries you can find in other tourism destinations, from Orlando to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, not to mention the hundreds of chain restaurants and endless breakfast spots around town.

At the very least, Myrtle Beach was spared the harsh criticism handed down by the Facebook Page “Judgmental Maps” upon Texas’ “most overrated” city.

“Seriously, f*** Dallas,” the page wrote.
