North Myrtle Beach considering a revised development project near Intracoastal Water
Developers want to bring a new community to the Intracoastal Waterway, changing their original plans for a vacation destination.
It’s up to the City of North Myrtle Beach to approve the changes now.
The new plan calls for a new residential community along the Intracoastal Waterway near the North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina at 260 Old Crane Road.
The project, submitted to the City Council, calls for 137 single-family lots, 35 on the water, a pool, a clubhouse and pickleball courts. The outline states the community will be called ‘Long Bay Village.’
The proposal is a marked departure from what the city approved in March 2023. The original proposal outlined an RV resort with 361 parking spaces, a waterfront boardwalk and a dry dock with a boat ramp.
Developers introduced the amended plan during the first reading of the city’s council meeting March 17, 2025, but haven’t received final approval yet. A spokesperson for the City of North Myrtle Beach did not return a request for comment before publication.
Horry County Land Records show that the project will be on about 60 acres of land broken up into smaller tracts. SW INT 90 Holdco III LLC ETAL, a company based in Brooklyn, NY, owns the plots. The firm purchased the land along the Intracoastal in late 2022.
The LLC’s register agent with the South Carolina Secretary of State’s website is a corporate register service.
