El Cerro Grande to open new location near Broadway at the Beach

El Cerro Grande will celebrate Cinco de Mayo this spring with the opening of its ninth location in the Grand Strand area, this one near Broadway at the Beach.

The popular Mexican bar and grill has already obtained a permit to demolish the interior of the building on 29th Avenue North that once housed the Greek restaurant Mykonos, and Bullwinkles, said city spokesman Mark Kruea.

The family-owned restaurant plans to open the new location for business on May 5, the anniversary of the Mexican army’s victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

El Cerro Grande has numerous locations in the Grand Strand area, including Myrtle Beach at 108 South Kings Highway, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Garden City, Carolina Forest and Georgetown.
