The Lowcountry Warbirds will have its 48th annual meeting at noon today at Hog Heaven BBQ Restaurant, 7147 Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island. All former and present day military aviators are welcome to attend.

Kasich returns to Myrtle Beach Tuesday

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson will moderate a presidential forum featuring Ohio Gov. John Kasich next week that will focus on future Supreme Court nominees, protecting the Constitution and the rule of law.

The Conservative Leadership Project event will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crown Reef Resort and Conference Center in Myrtle Beach.

The event is free and open to the public, and is part of the leadership project’s educational forums to examine presidential powers that would allow for the repeal of certain laws including Obamacare and Dodd-Frank, as well as EPA regulations and immigration laws.

The forum will also focus on future Supreme Court nominees, as the next president will likely make appointments to fill slots when four of the justices who were born in the 1930s begin to retire.

Pancake breakfast by firefighters for needy children

Myrtle Beach Professional Firefighters’ fifth annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa will be from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at Myrtle Beach Base Recreation Center, 800 Gabreski Lane, near Farrow Parkway and The Market Common. It includes free photos, and trucks to check out. All donations appreciated and will help with buying presents for local children in need. For more information, call 843-458-3086.

Christmas parade, drive-through nativity for South Strand

The Surfside Beach Christmas Parade will be at 2 p.m. Saturday on Ocean Boulevard from Melody Lane north to Surfside Drive, then west to town hall. For more information, call 843-650-9548 or www.surfsidebeach.org.

Then, the fourth annual drive-through nativity, “Road to Bethlehem,” will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Church of the Resurrection, 8901 U.S. 17 Bypass, west of Surfside Beach, between Glenns Bay Road and Garden City Connector.
