Along Socastee Boulevard between Highway 17 and Highway 544, the brightly colored Silver Creek Retail Center has a freshly paved parking lot and brand-new apartments built behind it.

According to project manager of the new complex, Ron Gooding, from start to finish this complex took about two and a half years to build.

The development includes to commercial buildings with eight units each and three apartment buildings with 39 apartments, Gooding said.

Two out of the three apartment buildings are already accepting new leases, he said. There are two and three bedroom options, and they come fully equipped with appliances. Gooding said the two bedroom apartments are currently going for about $1,650, with the three bedroom options going for around $1,750.
