Downtown Myrtle Beach breakfast spot to close after 15 years in business

A breakfast cafe in downtown Myrtle Beach has closed after 15 years, with its recipes traveling to a Murrells Inlet restaurant.

Lulu’s Cafe, 1903 N. Ocean Blvd., announced it will close once the 2025 tourist season is over, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant. Owner Misty Coan shared how she opened the restaurant in February 2011 while raising her two kids. Fast forward to today, and her children are grown and she is a grandmother, the post read.

“Today, I’m 50. My kids are now 25 and 21 and we’re now a family of 14 and I’m a grandmother! As life changes so does business and plans for the future. I’ve made the bittersweet decision to close Lulu’s Cafe at the end of the 2025 season. But this is not goodbye, just a new chapter,” the post said.

In 2026, Lulu’s will begin collaboration with Conch Cafe, 1870 N. Waccamaw Drive, where they will continue to serve their breakfast.

Lulu’s Cafe’s last weekend in business will be the first weekend of November, Coan said in an email to The Sun News.

“Thank you to each and every one of you for the love, support, and memories you’ve shared with us over the years. A house isn’t a home without family to fill it up, and that’s exactly what our guests have become to us FAMILY,” the post said.
