Myrtle Beach area shopping center sold for millions. What was the selling price?

A strip mall in the Myrtle Beach area has sold for millions to a real estate and development firm.

The Braves Village Shopping Center was sold to Brentwood Realty for $7.4 million, according to a press release. The shopping center is located at the intersection of Socastee Boulevard and Dick Pond Road

Brentwood Realty did not respond to a request to comment.

Food Lion is the center’s main business and there area handful of other stores and restaurants, including Rent-A-Center, La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant and The Chicken Joint. The MRZ Braves LLC has owned the property since 2003, Horry County land records show.

Brentwood Realty likes to buy properties and make them suitable for national retail tenants, like Starbucks or AutoZone, according to its website. Brokerage Firm Marcus & Millichap helped facilitate the sale.

Brentwood Realty owns a number of properties in New Jersey, New York and North Carolina. The majority of its portfolio is in the Northeast, but it owns two shopping centers in Charlotte, North Carolina. This appears to be its first South Carolina property.
