New Murrells Inlet ‘eclectic bazaar’ to offer aftermarket vintage items. Here’s where
A new shop to find vintage items and other antiques is coming to Murrells Inlet at the start of July.
Myrtle Beach area native and makeup artist Shawn Pitman-Anderson plans to tap into his love for unique treasures and vintage decor in his new vendor mall called Twisted Thrifters Eclectic Bazaar.
The space will offer spots for rent to vendors with furniture, designer bags or other goods to sell.
“This is for somebody who has an array of items that they shop for, they’re coming in, they’re renting a space, and filling it up with items to sell,” Pitman-Anderson said. “That way they’re not having to do this in a store or their home.”
It’s not like a thrift store, as many items are higher quality and sold for market price or a little less, Pitman-Anderson said.
Vendors can rent a space at 3103 Highway 17 Business S in Murrells inlet for $50 to $300 depending on the amount of things they have to sell. Vendors also will be charged a 15% commission on items sold.
He had previously worked at makeup stores such as Sephora and JC Penney beauty, but many people may have seen his makeup work in a bigger space.
Pitman-Anderson did the makeup for models on the Pirate’s Voyage billboards that are located throughout the Myrtle Beach area.
“I’m also a photographer, so I’ve done that part of the beauty industry. I’ve also done hair. I do photo shoots,” Pitman-Anderson said. “I’ve done a little bit of everything.”
He said that his passion for aftermarket selling like Twisted Thrifters started when he was around 9 years old when he would go dumpster diving behind retail stores.
“I came from a middle-income family, and so we always used to go to yard sales and get clothing just to make ends meet,” Pitman-Anderson said. “I have always had a love for finding treasure anywhere I go.”
