Beloved Myrtle Beach, SC area cafe closes for good. Owner needs to take care of family

After less than two years in business, a local favorite in the Myrtle Beach area has closed so the owner can take care of her family.

Hart’s Cafe and More, 4100 Holmestown Road, announced its closing on March 29, according to a Facebook post. Doreen Hart, the owner, needed to step away from the business to focus on taking care of her mother, whose health has been declining.

Hart did not respond to an interview request on Sunday.

The restaurant opened in 2023 and served breakfast, lunch and pastries. It also had a specials board that changed often, offering items like crust-less chicken pot pie and a crab cake dinner. It’s unclear if Hart plans to reopen the restaurant.

Many of Hart’s Cafe’s fans expressed their sadness in the Facebook comments while sending luck and prayers toward Hart and her family.

“This has been an extremely difficult decision, but we are truly grateful for your support over the last couple years. We hope you’ll keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as we will keep you in ours,” the Facebook post said.
