A North Myrtle Beach area restaurant is for sale. Here’s the asking price for the eatery
A restaurant in Longs known for a humorous sign poking fun at rude customers is for sale on LoopNet.
Salt Water Grille at 7036 S.C. 90 went on the commercial real estate platform in February 2025. According to the listing, the eatery was built in 2008 and has an asking price of about $1.6 million. Horry County Land Records show the property last sold for $280,000 in 2014.
Curry Martin, a real estate professional for the eatery, declined to comment when reached by The Sun News. Salt Water Grille owner Paddi Childers said she decided to sell because the time was right, and she wanted to retire.
Childers added the land is for sale along with the restaurant, which will stay open. She said the eatery has received offers. Childers thanked the restaurant’s customers, saying they were like her family.
Childers is known for placing a humorous sign on the restaurant’s front door in August 2024 to make a pointed joke about impolite diners. The sign directed impatient customers looking for a quick meal on Friday evenings to go to the nearby Wendy’s instead or dine in during the rest of the week when service was faster.
The sign later attracted attention on Facebook.
“This is a mom-and-pop restaurant outside Myrtle Beach,” Childers said in an interview with The Sun News at the time. “I sure didn’t mean to offend anyone.”
