A Myrtle Beach shaver maker closed. Here’s what we know

A Myrtle Beach warehouse has ceased operations. West Coast Shaving, which specializes in razors, shaving starter kits and other shaving accessories, has shuttered for good, according to a company representative.

“Unfortunately, the Myrtle Beach, SC location of West Coast Shaving is permanently closed,” the representative wrote in an email statement. “West Coast Shaving is under new management, and the warehouse was moved.”

The Myrtle Beach area warehouse’s doors were locked at 1736 U.S. Highway 501 as of April 9, 2024; someone placed brown paper in the windows to cover the inside of the building. It’s unclear if something is replacing West Coast Shaving.

Christopher Winey operates Newberry Home Improvement, specializing in kitchen cabinet and bathtub remodeling next door to West Coast Shave. Winey said work was recently done inside the former West Coast Shave warehouse, but he didn’t know what it was.
