A 7-Eleven is open in Carolina Forest. The store will have giveaways at its grand opening
Slurpees are coming to Carolina Forest.
A new 7-Eleven opened Thursday, June 13. The new station’s gas pumps and convenience store are now open.
The station will also host a grand opening July 20. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and customers will have the opportunity to win giveaways of free food and drinks. Activities for kids are also planned. A 7-Eleven manager referred The Sun to Senior Manager for External Communications Dea Preston who did not return a request for comment.
7-Eleven will also be accompanied by several new businesses in the area. Construction on a new Valvoline auto repair shop has begun next to the 7-Eleven. Senior Director, of Corporate Communications at Valvoline Michele Gaither Sparks was unable to comment.
In addition, a Shell Station will also open in the area. The convenience store has been built, but neither the store nor the pumps are open for business yet. More construction on new buildings at the location is also taking place, but it is not known what businesses will open next to the Shell. Shell Head of Americas Media Relations Curtis Smith did not respond to a request for comment.
Carolina Forest is also set to get a new grocery store soon. A BJ’s will open next to the Krispy Kreme on Rodeo Drive. Construction has not started on the grocery store, but perspective customers can sign up for memberships online. BJ’s Senior Manager for External Communications could not be reached for comment.
Additionally, a new car wash called Hang 10 is also set to join the Carolina Forest business community, a road sign announcing the opening. No construction has started yet either and no phone number was listed on the Hang 10 sign.
The Shell Station is located at 2248 Carolina Forest Blvd. 7-Eleven and Valvoline is in front of the Publix at 136 Sapwood Road.
The Sun News also reached out to the Horry County Planning and Zoning Department, who directed The Sun to submit a FOIA for additional information.
