An athletic sock distribution company is bringing nearly 100 jobs to Loris as part of a $2.6 million investment, state economic development officials announced Dec. 13.

Moose Logistics & Distribution, a subsidiary of Philippines-based UET International, is entering South Carolina’s market with its plan to open a facility along 3357 Franklin Street.

Company founder and owner Thomas Moose Jr. said in a statement the firm is growing as it supplies products for NFL and NCAA teams through Amazon, Costco, Sam’s Club and other big-name retailers.

“I intend to hire directly from the local community and technical colleges and create good-paying, long-term employment,” Moose said in a news release.

The company plans to be operational by March.
