Instagram this Myrtle Beach sunset: Picnic setup business masters boho chic style
One Myrtle Beach woman is celebrating the one-year anniversary of her business that offers a unique twist to a photo ready beach experience.
Florence “Flo” Ruggeri, is the owner of MB Picnic Co., a luxury picnic setup business that up a picnic table with your choice of items before you and your friends or family arrive. Due to the summer heat, MB Picnic Co. is currently only offering picnic setup services at sunrise and sunset.
The favored look of the picnic setup is a bohemian, or “boho,” theme with neutral colors that attract men and women. Bohemian refers to an aesthetic style that involves a lot of natural colors and artistic prints.
MB Picnic Co. does two different types of packages, a boho deluxe package and a less expensive boho luxury picnic package.
The Luxury package includes a fully styled table with individual place settings, silverware, a welcome sign, décor and an ice bucket with sparkling water.
The deluxe package includes everything in the luxury package plus an umbrella, a speaker, two beach chairs and a tent.
While MB Picnic Co. does not serve food itself, Ruggeri said she often picks up food orders if customers don’t want to get it themselves. However, there is a charcuterie board add-on for snacks.
Ruggeri decided to start her own business last year to meet new people and do something no one else was doing in the area at the time.
Ruggeri was surprised when her business took off with the help of her family with social media.
“I just thought I’d start slow,” Ruggeri said. “Well, word of mouth went crazy.”
Prices depend on the number of people the picnic will be set up for. While the website shows prices from $160 to $600, Ruggeri said she could comfortably accommodate 30 people at a party. All picnics are set up for one and a half hours.
While additional fees may be included for travel time, MB Picnic Co. serves customers in the Myrtle Beach area, Garden City, and Georgetown County based on locations that the customer picks out themselves.
Ruggeri does not operate in North Myrtle Beach due to an ordinance prohibiting beach gear on the sand. She is still able to accommodate North Myrtle Beach residents who are willing to travel to different beaches.
Ruggeri said she is looking into working with a chef in the future to be able to offer food services as well.
“I’m loving every minute of it,” Ruggeri said. “I’m just so blessed.”
