VIDEO: Watch as the Fountainbleau Inn is demolished in Myrtle Beach

The Fountainbleau Inn, once a popular destination for Myrtle Beach tourism, is being demolished this week. The motel, just a block from the ocean front in Myrtle Beach was one of ten properties purchased by the City of Myrtle Beach last year as part of a plan to revitalize the area.

On Wednesday, crews from JMEC Construction began the process Wednesday of dismantling the inn. Work clearing the site is expected to take several weeks.

In April, another nearby motel, the Sea Nymph was also razed. Over the next few months, JMEC will also clear lots currently home to the Oasis and Sea Palms motels.
