The Hangout, Key West Village to open for summer in Broadway at the Beach. The details
The Hangout, an Alabama-based restaurant known for its seafood and live music, is scheduled to open at Broadway at the Beach in time for the summer tourism season.
It will be part of Key West Village, which will feature new specialty retail concepts and entertainment experiences.
The opening continues the redevelopment of the southeast corner of the Myrtle Beach shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
That area once contained the AMC Classic Broadway 16 movie theater, Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Mini-Golf, Pavilion Park East and MagiQuest. They were all demolished by late 2019.
The Hangout’s first South Carolina location will be 40,000 square feet and is expected to create more than 300 jobs, according to a release from LHWH Advertising & PR. The Hangout’s founding location is in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The brand focuses on high-energy, family-friendly, multi-generational activities and fun.
Family entertainment will include dancing and contests led by energetic cast members, a ‘ton-of-fun’ sand pile, fire pits, courtyard games, a retail store and an assortment of unique art acquired specifically for the Myrtle Beach location, including a wall covered in rare antique lunch boxes, a collection of Pez dispensers, a ‘wish wall,’ and other interactive and creative elements.
The menu will spotlight seasonal seafood dishes, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, appetizers and sides prepared from scratch in a hi-tech kitchen. The Hangout will offer live music year-round on its dual indoor and outdoor stages.
The Hangout is also a sports bar with numerous large-screen TVs.
