Here’s where the Myrtle Beach area’s first Five Below discount retail store will open

Five Below is coming to the Myrtle Beach area.

The discount retail store that offers trendy products marketed to teens and tweens in particular, as well as adults, is building its first location on the Grand Strand off U.S. 17 and Kings Road near the Tanger Outlets in the Briarcliffe Acres area.

A sign says the store will open sometime in the winter of 2022. Company representatives could not be reached for additional information.

Most items at Five Below are priced between $1 and $5 though some are more than $5. Five Below touts product categories including toys & games, style, room, sports, tech, beauty, pet supplies, arts & crafts, party, books, candy & snacks, and household essentials, and has the motto “Let go and have fun.”

It was founded in 2002, is headquartered in Philadelphia and has more than 1,100 stores in 40 states. The local store is accepting applications online.

Five Below is a philanthropic company. Since 2006, through customer donations and fundraising, Five Below has collected and donated more than $26.2 million to several nonprofits including Alex’s Lemonade Stand, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Toys for Tots and the Kids In Need Foundation, according to the company.
