‘There won’t be anything like it.’ Unique Twin Peaks restaurant and sports bar opening
A Twin Peaks that will set some firsts for the restaurant chain will open Monday in Myrtle Beach.
The eatery and sports bar that features an all-female bar and wait staff will have the first circular bar of the 85 locations in the United States, and the most beer taps with 64 that will offer 32 brands of draft beer served at 29 degrees.
It will also have just the second Topgolf Swing Suite golf simulator in the Twin Peaks chain after the opening of one in Fargo, North Dakota a month ago, and one of a few cigar lounges. The Cigar Garage, which is set within opening garage doors, has 12 leather seats and a smoke eater on the ceiling.
The large mountain lodge-themed restaurant will seat approximately 350 customers and also feature 77 televisions that are at least 65 inches, with most 75 inches or larger; a Trophy Room with 60 seats and a fireplace that can be closed and rented for private functions; and an outdoor fire pit.
Twin Peaks has an extensive menu with many of the items made from scratch. Though it has a Tex-Mex profile, several other kinds of food are available. It has 15 various appetizers; wings with many options; soups and salads; burgers; sandwiches; tacos; entrees including chicken, ribs, steak, fish, shrimp and a pot roast; several sides; and a few desserts.
Twin Peaks is located in the Myrtle Beach Mall in the Briarcliffe Acres area, next to Bass Pro Shops in a space previously occupied by the Islamorada Fish Company restaurant, which closed in 2017.
It will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight next Monday through Wednesday, will be closed on Thanksgiving, will be open from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday — closing time next week will be later if business warrants it — and will be open from 11 a.m. to close Saturday and thereafter.
Building a second empire with Twin Peaks
The Myrtle Beach Twin Peaks is being operated by La Cima Restaurants LLC, whose CEO and president is Coby Brooks, the former CEO and president of Hooters of America.
Brooks has exclusive rights to Twin Peaks franchises in the Carolinas, Alabama, Georgia, eastern Tennessee and central and northern Florida, and this will be his 15th in operation.
Brooks is the son of late Loris native Bob Brooks, who built the Hooters empire into more than 450 restaurant locations worldwide as well as an airline, casino, auto racing series and golf tour in the Hooters name. He also owned food supplier Naturally Fresh Foods.
Bob Brooks died at the age of 69 in 2006 and the sale of Hooters was completed in January 2011. Coby Brooks created La Cima, which in Spanish translates to “the top” or “the peak,” with several other former Hooters executives to establish his franchises, and opened the company’s first Twin Peaks in July 2012 in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, where he resides.
Brooks said the Myrtle Beach Twin Peaks will be the most unique of his restaurants and something different for the Grand Strand. “There won’t be anything like it,” he said.
