New development with 111 houses approved for Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach
The Myrtle Beach Planning Commission approved a new development in Grande Dunes with no discussion in under 15 minutes.
The new development will have 111 plots ranging in size from 10,120 square feet to 5,642 square feet and six new named streets. It’ll be located next to Marina Parkway near 79th Avenue N, according to the application.
Proposed new street names for the development include Mirto Street, Vicino Path, Speranza Court, Spiaggia Street and Pace Lane, meeting slides showed.
Planning commissioners did not have any concerns or changes to the plans submitted by the developer, Development Resource Group, during the commission’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
According to city staff in attendance, this plan was approved in 2024 but had to get resubmitted for reapproval after the 12-month approval expired.
When asked for additional comment following the meeting, planning commission committee chair, Joyce Karetas declined comment and said that anything she has to say about a plan will be said during the public meeting. She said this goes for both people who call her on the phone and members of the media.
The developer who represented the plan to the commission during the Tuesday meeting, Cameron Parker, said the homes would be built by Dream Finders Homes. The company’s website shows that they are a national builder, building homes cities in 11 states. In South Carolina, Dream Finders also has homes in Greenville, Charleston and Hilton Head Island.
City staff and city-paid planners did not express any concerns or have any additional comments during the brief public meeting about the new 100 plus plot development.
