Animal Tales | All about Avis
Hey everyone … my name is Avis, and I am a certified therapy dog (Therapy Dogs International). This is me with my badge and certificate for 50+ visits. Aren’t I handsome?
I have so many friends at NHC in Garden City that my owner, Barbara Prescop, and I visit every Friday. I love to see them all, and they tell me they look forward to my visits. I can tell they love me a lot by the kisses I get (and give), the big smiles, the hugs and the wonderful back rubs I get. I’m really tired at the end of the day and look forward to seeing my brother, Rascal, and taking a good long nap.
Lots of people there don’t have families to visit, and I can tell I cheer them up. It makes me feel good to see that I can make a difference in their lives. I am sooooo happy to get to bring my love to them. I love my mommy for finding this organization and getting me certified as a therapy dog. I love all my NHC friends new and old that welcome me so warmly each and every week.
I am one happy dog!
